Avoid these 5 mistakes for your electric toothbrush!

Avoid these 5 mistakes for your electric toothbrush!

Introduction

The last thing when we purchase an electric toothbrush is for it to break down only months after we got it. The truth is that most electric toothbrushes have high-quality guarantees and are designed to last for a long time. The lifespan of an electric toothbrush ties closely with whether we are treating the electric toothbrush properly. If treated with poor care, even the best electric toothbrushes will be damaged. Read on to understand the top 5 mistakes in order to extend the lifespan of your electric toothbrush.

Point 1: Place the electric toothbrush in a humid or wet environment

Generally speaking, electric toothbrushes are waterproof. Some of the well-known brands such as Philips Sonicare Toothbrush, Oral-B Electric Toothbrush, Colgate Deep Clean Toothbrush, Quip Adult Electric Toothbrush, and others. However, its waterproof characteristic does not mean electric toothbrushes prefer to be placed in a humid or wet environment. Most people simply place the electric toothbrush back in the glass they rinse their mouth in. In the long term, the water at the bottom of the glass will gradually infiltrate into the electric toothbrush, causing the inner motor to wear out.
To extend the lifespan of your electric toothbrush, please shake off the excess water or wipe the water off the electric toothbrush with a towel and place it in a dry place.

Point 2: Did not leave enough gap between the brush head and the electric toothbrush body.

Most people might have already noticed that there is a small gap between the brush head and the electric toothbrush body and wonder if this is a design error or simply poor installation of the brush head. This is totally normal because every one of Soocas' electric toothbrushes has a gap of 0.5~1mm to ensure a normal delivery of vibration.
If you did not leave any gap between the brush head and the toothbrush body, then there might not be enough room for the motor to work effectively. This could cause inefficient brushing, damage the motor, and reduce the lifespan of the electric toothbrush. Be sure to leave some gaps!

Point 3: Neglect to clean these 3 areas

Besides the brush head, and toothbrush body, the gap connecting the two parts is the main target for bacteria buildup. Be sure to clean the gap between the brush head and the toothbrush body thoroughly to avoid any damage to the toothbrush in order to extend the lifespan of your electric toothbrush.

Point 4: Failure to replace the brush head every 3 months

After using the electric toothbrush for 3 months, the bristles are out of shape and can no longer clean fit to the teeth surfaces. This leads to a direct decrease in the cleaning power and could cause excessive bacteria growth that threatens oral health.
We could have a couple of extra brush heads for replacement.

Point 5: Too much pressure applied while brushing

For those who like to apply lots of pressure while brushing, thinking it will clean better, you might actually be damaging your enamel and gums. Additionally, excessive pressure also damages the electric toothbrush and reduces the lifespan.
Electric toothbrushes are designed with vibrational features, so just place the toothbrush on the teeth and brush gently. If you still cannot control how much pressure you apply while brushing, try an electric toothbrush with a pressure sensor.
